High above Manhattan, Galerie Gabriel's penthouse sets the stage for 'Crossed Trajectories', a considered exhibition curated by New York-based interior designer Studio Mellone. Conceived as a study in movement and cultural exchange, the show traces the journeys of post-war designers and artists who crossed continents in pursuit of new creative vocabularies. At its core is a dialogue between French designer Jean Royère and Argentine artist Roberto Platé. Their works, distinct in material, form and intention, converge here through shared histories of displacement and reinvention. Royère's sculptural furnishings and Platé's tactile, expressive surfaces are joined by pieces from fellow transatlantic figures, including Zanine Caldas and Jorge Zalszupin, each object bearing the subtle imprint of migration and the shaping force of circulation. The penthouse setting amplifies the exhibition's premise: framed by the Manhattan skyline, the works appear suspended between geographies, their forms resonating with the idea of movement not as a rupture but as a generative force.
